Why play medic
When a teammate goes down, a revive puts them back up with everything they had. The alternative is a respawn at HQ and paying for a new kit. Reviving pays you cash and Medic experience, and healing a teammate pays on top of that. See how to make money for what each action is worth.
Medic experience comes from reviving, healing and kills with SMGs. It unlocks better medical gear, including the defibrillator.
Reviving
- 01Teammate down
They stay on the ground until someone revives them, they give up or the timer runs out.
- 02Get to cover
You sit still while you revive. Make sure nobody can see you doing it.
- 03Revive
Use the fastest tool you have: defibrillator, then resuscitator, then bare hands.
- 04Heal to full
A revived player comes back low. Finish with a first aid kit or bandages.
| Tool | Price | Speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bare hands | Free | Slowest | Always available, but you sit still for a long time. |
| Emergency Resuscitator / Field Resuscitator | $0 / $500 | Faster | Single use. Carry a few. |
| Defibrillator | $1,600 | Instant | Runs on a battery that has to charge. Unlocks at Medic level 11. |
| Medical Bag | $2,000 | Speeds up revives | Not a revive tool itself. Also heals over time. |
Healing
Bandages and first aid kits work on yourself or a teammate. The first aid kit is the one that brings someone back to full in one go.
| Item | Heals | Price | HP per $1,000 | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bandage | +35 HP | $200 | 175 | 0.08 kg |
| Enox | +40 HP | $450 | 89 | - |
| Individual First Aid Kit | +100 HP | $800 | 125 | 0.16 kg |
Bandages give the most health per dollar, but the first aid kit does the whole job at once, which matters when you are healing under fire. The Medical Bag heals over time instead.
Starter kit
Light armor, and the money goes on healing instead. It costs $3,200, so your starting cash covers it 3 times. Once the revives are paying, move up to a defibrillator and better armor.
- AMP-9
- Level 1 Armor
- Level 1 Helmet
- Small Tac Vest
- Individual First Aid Kit
- Bandagex4
- Emergency Resuscitator
Guns
Medic experience comes from SMG kills, so an SMG is the natural pick. The best one by the numbers is the Super-45 (S tier, $2,600). On a budget, the AMP-9 is A tier for $900. See the tier list for the rest.
Tips
- Stay just behind your squad. A medic who goes down first saves nobody.
- Don't revive someone who is still in the open. Wait for cover or smoke, or you both go down.
- Stay light. You spend your life running between teammates, so heavy armor costs you more than it saves. See weight classes.
- Always finish with a heal. It pays, and a teammate at low health goes down again fast.
