Season 2 and the wipe

Season 2 starts on 15 October 2026, and it is a wipe. Your cash and levels go back to zero, your gold bars and cosmetics stay. Here is what we know, and what that means for how you spend the rest of Season 1.

When it starts

Bulkhead announced the date on Steam on 22 September: Season 2 begins on . The time of the reset has not been announced yet. Expect a maintenance window on the day, like the one for patch 0.11.

What resets and what you keep

Resets

  • Cash
  • Levels and XP, for every role
  • Role unlocks, since they come from levels

Carries over

  • Gold bars
  • Cosmetics you bought with gold bars
  • Leftover cash, turned into gold bars for you

Everyone starts Season 2 on the same $10,000 and at level 1. The unlock order will not be the same either: the Season 1 changelog says every season gets its own XP curve and its own order of items, so a gun you unlocked early in Season 1 can sit at a different level in Season 2.

The conversion rate is not out yet
Bulkhead has confirmed that leftover cash turns into gold bars, but not at what rate. Community guesses are all over the place. Until the official number is out, treat any figure you see as a rumour.

What is new

So far only one thing is confirmed: rain. It is an extra weather state per map, so a match is either rainy from start to finish or it is not. It will not start raining halfway through. Bulkhead says more Season 2 information comes in the lead-up to 15 October, and we will add it here.

What to do before the wipe

Cash has no future after 15 October except through the conversion, and levels are going back to zero anyway. That changes what a good Season 1 end-game looks like:

  1. 01Stop saving for later. A $6,500 FAL or an expensive vehicle you lose costs you nothing next season. The last weeks are the time to run the kit you never dared to.
  2. 02Decide on gold bars yourself. If there are cosmetics you want, you can buy gold bars now at a rate you can see. Check today's gold bar price and compare it with the conversion rate once Bulkhead publishes it.
  3. 03Don't grind XP for its own sake. Levels reset. Play for the unlocks you want to try before the season ends, not for the number.
  4. 04Stay away from exploits. Since patch 0.11, abusing cash exploits gets you a timed ban and your cash and XP set to zero, and XP farming servers get you banned permanently.
  5. 05Plan your Season 2 start. You are back to $10,000, so read how not to go broke and pick a cheap kit from the best loadouts for your first matches.

When does Wardogs Season 2 start?
On 15 October 2026. Bulkhead has not said what time the reset happens.
Will Wardogs wipe for Season 2?
Yes. Cash, levels and XP reset. Gold bars and the cosmetics you bought with them stay on your account.
What happens to my cash at the wipe?
Cash you still have when the season ends is converted into gold bars automatically. Bulkhead has not published the conversion rate yet.
Is there anything new in Season 2?
Rain is confirmed. It is a weather state a map can have for the whole match, not something that starts in the middle of one. Bulkhead says more Season 2 details are coming before 15 October.
