How not to go broke

Everything you carry into a match is yours to lose. The trick is bringing only what the job needs.

Checked

How losing works

You start with $10,000 once, not every match. Cash carries over between matches, but your loadout does not. When you die and nobody revives you, the gear you had on is gone and you pay for the next kit out of your own pocket. The cash you already earned stays in the bank.

Rule of thumb
Keep enough cash to replace your kit several times before you buy anything expensive. If one bad life would leave you broke, the kit is too expensive for you right now.

Starter loadouts

Priced from our gear and weapon lists. Ammo and attachments are not included, and in this game you pay for every round, so add a bit on top.

Where the money goes

  1. 01Heavy armor you can't use. Level 4 armor costs $4,000 and weighs 18 kg. Level 2 is $1,000 and 4.5 kg. Buy the top tier when you know how to stay alive in it.
  2. 02Pushing the same spot again. If a push failed, the next one from the same direction usually fails too. Go around or wait for your team.
  3. 03Walking to the fight. Every minute on foot is a minute you are not earning. Grab a ride or spawn on the APC.
  4. 04Forgetting to loot. The enemy you just killed was carrying gear. Take what you need before you buy more.
  5. 05Big vehicles too early. Expensive vehicles are fun until the first rocket. Learn to fly or drive on the cheap ones.
  6. 06Carrying the halftrack backpack everywhere. At $15,000 it costs more than most full loadouts. Only bring it when you are actually hauling.

Cheap heals, compared

A bandage heals 35 HP for $200, about $6 per HP. A first aid kit heals 100 HP for $800, about $8 per HP. Bandages are cheaper for topping up. Save the kit for when you need a lot of health back in one go.

End of season
Cash resets at the end of a season and what is left turns into Gold Bars for cosmetics. Being careful is good, hoarding is not. Read more in How to make money.
